Weather forecast for Barcelos is quite promising with very little rain for the rest of the week. We expect water levels to keep on improving. (Pls. check graphs below)

Homero river Fly-in Floating cabins with no rain whatsoever during last weekend.  Very special group visiting this camp: 4 couples enjoying their honeymoon!  Although fishing has not been the main focus of these group´s activities, they have landed 350 peacocks with 12 of them above the 10lbs mark. They started fishing on Sunday.

 Lower Xeruini private fishery presented excellent fishing conditions with a mid water level. Anglers landed 438 peacocks with the largest weighing 18lbs.. Week looks promising for this group.

The upper Xeruini group enjoyed also fair weather during the weekend but  water levels are high due to heavy rain episodes last week on the head waters. This small group nevertheless landed 93 peacocks pm the last 2 ½ days.

Lower Jufaris anglers fishing at this private fishery landed 77 peacocks with the largest one weighing 11lbs. This group started fishing on Sunday. No rain to report at this location also, water levels are stable  at jungle level .

 Upper Jufaris fishery this week received a small party of 4 anglers that only fish in the morning. They have landed 32 peacocks in the last two mornings and they also suffered some heavy rain episodes last weekend.

Mid-Week Fishing Report: November 16-18, 2013 (2 1/2 days)

Weather conditions have been quite different this last weekend in each of the fisheries, water levels are improving. We expect uneven results in the different fisheries throughout the week.

Homero river Fly-in Floating cabins have almost no rain, and water levels here have stabilized on  the low side. Anglers this week started with a 191 landed fish count. The ones above 10lbs. amounted to 15 peacocks. Last week´s group fish count was 1.028 biggest weighing 16lbs. This camp started fishing on Sunday.

Lower Xeruini private fishery on the other side of the coin suffered heavy rain episodes throughout the weekend. Nevertheless, anglers here opened the week with a 307 landed peacocks score, 08 of them topped the 10lbs mark and the largest weighed 14lbs. Water levels are at jungle level. Last week´s group closed with a total count of 1.649 landed peacocks, with a 21 pounder as the largest.

The upper Xeruini group on the other hand enjoyed fair weather this weekend, they started the week with 83 landed peacocks. Water levels are a bit high but fair weather is helping to accelerate the descent.  In the meantime we will be moving this camp downriver looking for better fishing conditions. This camp started fishing on Sunday.

Lower Jufaris anglers fishing at this private fishery landed 223 peacocks with the largest one weighing 12lbs. No significant rain to report at this location also, water levels are at jungle level and improving daily. Last week´s fish count was 1.190. This camp started fishing on Sunday.

We started operating at the Upper Jufaris fishery this week. Anglers landed 240 peacocks last weekend with the largest one at 14lbs. They enjoyed fair weather all weekend.

We have now 4 Fly-In Floating cabins camps operating in our private fisheries, weather conditions have been fantastic this last weekend and water levels are getting better each day. Coming anglers can expect to enjoy great sport fishing conditions.

Homero river Fly-in Floating cabins have almost no rain, and water levels here are on getting to the low side. Anglers this week started with a 308 landed fish count. The ones above 10lbs. amounted to 26 peacocks. Last week´s group fish count was 1.514.

Lower Xeruini  private fishery  enjoyed fair weather last weekend. Anglers here opened the week with a 342 landed peacocks score, 15 of them topped the 10lbs mark and the largest weighed 15lbs. Water levels descended 3 inches and are improving by the day. Last week´s group closed with a total count of 1.200 landed peacocks, with a 19 pounder as the largest.

The upper Xeruini group of 6 had a nice start with 130 landed peacocks and the largest weighing 17lbs.. Almost no rain to report this weekend here also. Water levels are a bit high but fair weather is helping to accelerate the descent.

Lower Jufaris anglers fishing at this private fishery landed 421 peacocks with the largest one weighing 14lbs, last week´s largest peacock was a 22 pounder. No significant rain to report at this location also, water levels are good and improving daily.

Mid-Week Fishing Report: November 02-04, 2013 (2 1/2 days)

Fly-in-Floating Cabin camp stationed at the Homero river had a great start with a total landed peacock count of 747 for these 2 ½ days, with 44 of them above 10 lbs.. They have enjoyed fair weather with almost no rain. Last week total for this camp was 1.189 landed peacocks. Water levels on this fishery continued to descend are getting near the low side.

Anglers at the Lower Xeruini  private fishery started their week with a 632 fish count, with water levels descending although they have endured some heavy rain episodes, forecasts show that these will continue for the next few days.

Lower Jufaris private fishery also started operating under some heavy rain episodes. Anglers here landed 470 peacocks with the largest one weighing 21lbs. It is worth noting that although the heavy rain episodes this last weekend, water levels continued to descend in both fisheries.
