This week we are hosting 33 anglers distributed in 4 Fly-In Floating Cabin camps fishing in our private fisheries at the Jufaris, Xeruini and Taperá rivers. Weather has been fair this last weekend with light rain episodes. Water levels have descended an average of 1 ft. throughout the fisheries. Headwaters of the Taperá are reaching the optimal water levels and fishing conditions. Forecasts show some significant rain episodes next two days getting better towards the weekend.
Last´s week total fish count was 1532 landed peacocks the largest one weighing 18lbs caught at the Taperá. This week this fishery has already yielded one 18 pounder and one 17 pounder, in a total of 149 peacocks among our 6 savvy guests. Meanwhile in the Jufaris fishery two 18 pounders were caught in the weekend within a 165 total for the weekend. The Xeruini upper limit was 14lbs. Other species caught included, piranhas, bicudas, aruanas, jacundas.
Our daily reports via satellite phone from our camps show that we have happy anglers enjoying great fishing conditions, fair tropical weather and our traditional high standard service in the jungle. It is important to read these reports keeping in mind that we respect the different rhythm and abilities of our guests, so the shown yield of the fisheries is a combination of the fishery conditions plus the angler´s characteristics.
Please check the weather forecast for both Barcelos and Caracarai, directly in the influence area of our operating fisheries.
