Excellent weather conditions in all our fisheries last weekend. Anglers enjoyed clear days with almost no rain episodes. We expect some rain episodes in the coming days in the Barcelos influence area though. Fishing conditions are excellent on the lower rivers and a bit low in the headwaters, rainfall forecast for the coming days make us believe that this situation will remain unchanged in the coming days. Fishing results have been very good in all fisheries, pls. check the spreadsheet
Anglers at the upper Jufaris river Fly-In Floating Cabins have landed two 18 lbs peacocks, one 17 lbs and fourteen over 10 lbs in a total of 393 landed peacocks, making us that they are in the good path to beat last week’s 7 peacocks above 17 lbs with the largest weighing 21 lbs. Meanwhile the upper Xeruini 4 anglers group have landed 327 peacocks the largest of which weighed 17 lbs...
The Upper Taperá group of 6 has caught a total of 384 peacocks with the largest weighing 17lbs. Water levels on this particular fishery are a bit on the low side and we are monitoring daily the tendency in order to position the camp in the best available spot. From the fishing point of view results are unaffected by this fact. Camp reports again that propellers are the main lures responsible for the big sized peacocks while mid water lures are working excellently also.
The lower Xeruini and Jufaris groups have had a great weekend with 390 and 328 peacocks landed respectively. These fisheries last week totaled 1592 peacocks with 8 trophies of 21,20,19,18lbs to show.
Water levels on both lower parts of the fisheries are excellent, and rainfall forecasts show that they will continue to be so in the coming week although they will endure some heavy rain episodes in the next few days.
