Month: August 2018
Mid-Week Fishing Report: Aug 04 – 06, 2018 (2 ½ days)
OPTIMAL FISHING CONDITIONS AT THE MARMELOS RIVER.
Last week the Sullivan group ended the week with 1.925 landed peacock bass the largest of which weighed 15lbs that presented quite a challenge for a savvy fly fisherman.
This weekend the Tarr group arrived at our Marmelos private fishery, with a mix of baitcasters and fly-fishermen, their largest trophy up to yesterday was a 17lbs. peacock bass. Great top water action and propellers and poppers are having the best performance as reported by the camp host.
Fishing conditions are just perfect, weather forecast for the rest of the week only show some mild normal tropical storms with no significant rainfall.
Dry-Zone S.East
Water levels are at the optimal level and keep slowly descending (see graph below - Humaita). Weather forecast confirms tendency showing some mild tropical storms with no significant rainfall (see forecast below - Manicore).
NOTE that the yellow area at the North affecting the Amazon basin and our fisheries makes us believe that it might have a positive influence (70%) in our fisheries, averting extreme water levels for the rest of the season.
Weather forecast for Manicore , in the area of influence of the Marmelos private fishery shows some normal mild tropical storms with no significant rainfall.
