WATER LEVELS STILL DROPPING IN THE BRANCO / NEGRO BASIN – GOOD FISHING !

 

 

 

Week end´s tally (2 ½ days):

Note: this 2 1/2 days report is to rush last weekend’s conditions to our incoming anglers.

Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last week the Kuipers group of 8 anglers broke the 2K mark and ended the week with a 2.059 peacocks in the basket.  Last Saturday the Shutt group arrived and in just 2 1/2 days landed 676 peacock bass, all fly fishermen in the group. Water levels are a bit below the ideal and dropping, fishing conditions are expected to be good in the coming days. Mid -Xeruini fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last week, the Thigpen group landed the first 19 pounder, the second one was landed by the White group at the Itapará. The Cofer group had a good start with a nice size mix in the bag. Levels are dropping and weather forecast confirms the tendency. Itapará river in Dry-Zone N. East –  :  Just 4 anglers in the Sylvara group have the camp and the river to themselves, 174 landed peacock bass is their mark for the weekend, fishing conditions are really good and water level is at an ideal point, no rainfall in the horizon. Upper  Jufaris in Dry-Zone N.East – :  Our single occupancy suites received last Saturday 5 anglers in the Osborne group.They jump started with 270 landed peacock bass, the largest of which weighed over 17lbs. Camp reports that locally tied jigs were the stars this weekend. Good fishing conditions are expected to continue in the coming days.

2019 BENCHMARK : 19 LBS PEACOCK BASS

Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Kuipers group of 8 anglers arrived on Saturday  landing 755 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days. Last weeks final count was 1.968 by the Rankin group. Best performing lures are propellers and top water lures. Water levels are still a bit below the ideal mark but stable, fishing results continue to be solid. Mid -Xeruini fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Thigpen group has landed this year´s benchmark of 19 lbs this weekend. Water levels are very fishable and expected to drop slowly. Itapará river in Dry-Zone N. East –  :  Received the White group of 6, started the week landing 223 peacock bass. Last week´s final count was 1.450 peacock bass with 5 trophies above the 17lbs mark. Water levels are still a bit above the ideal but they keep dropping, weather forecast supports the tendency. Upper  Jufaris in Dry-Zone N.East – :  Our single occupancy suites received last Saturday the Ledet group of 4 anglers, under excellent fishing conditions they started with a 198 peacock bass basket with a good size mix. Star lures are perversas and joao pepinos. Good fishing conditions are expected in the coming days.

Find below the new quarterly rainfall for Feb, Mar, Apr showing that we should not expect any significant rain episodes, in our area of interest,  on the contrary levels will be below the normal historical levels. A mild El Niño impact is expected on this regard.

NOW FISHING AT THE ITAPARÁ, XERUINÍ, KABORÍ, UPPER AND MID JUFARIS

Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Rankin group of 8 anglers arrived on Saturday  landing 566 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days. Largest peacock bass weighed 17lbs. and best performing lures are propellers and top water lures. Water levels are a bit below the ideal mark but yields are good, levels are dropping very slowly. Mid -Xeruini fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Dean group of 8 anglers landed two trophies above the 17lbs. mark in just 2 1/2 days. Best performing lures are propellers and top water lures. Water levels have stabilized and weather forecast confirms tendency. Itapará river in Dry-Zone N. East –  :  Received the Kelley group which started the week landing 592 peacock bass largest of which was 18lbs. Water levels are a bit above the ideal and dropping, weather forecast supports the tendency. Upper and Mid Jufaris in Dry-Zone N.East – :  Our single occupancy suites received last week the Cox group and they had a great start with several peacock bass above the 10lbs mark. Fishing conditions are excellent and forecast for the coming days is good. Simultaneously the Kring group in the Mid Jufaris are taking a more relaxed approach and enjoying the whole experience taking it more easy. Water levels are a bit on the low side and stable.
