Real-life monsters!

3708 Peacocks boated by 22 anglers

Last week of November has gone by with great success! 3 groups came to pay us a visit and left with their hands quite full (and with big fish). Our North West rivers are still paying dividends with huge lunkers being boated. Biggest one caught? 24lbs. And quite a few managed to get in the 20-23lb range.

Weather: we had a mix of sunny skies and cloud cover. A couple of rainstorms poured, which at this time are necessary to bring the water temperature slightly down and benefit Peacocks. Our North West Zone forecasts roughly the same weather for next week

Groups: 3

Anglers: 22

Peacock Bass Count: 3708

Biggest: 24lbs

Over 8lbs: 106

*Other less aggressive tropical species were left out of the fishing tally.

Cherry picking pays off! 4 groups with great success

8806 Peacocks boated by 32 anglers

Week 21 of our season. The North East Zone keeps on paying dividends with big numbers on the Jufari and Itapara. Our repeating (and hardcore) De Botton group boated an astonishing 3,475 Peacocks!

A few big rainstorms hit the region, slowing the fish slightly but renewing the oxygen (and our hopes). All rivers came up by about 2 feet and opened previously closed lagoons and creeks. The drought is still a thing in most areas but for the North East Zone where we strategically moved our camps and anglers. Cherry-picking water levels and being mobile is the name of the game here in the Amazon.

Weather: A few rainstorms poured but we experienced good weather for the most part. Our North East Zone forecasts some showers and cloud cover.

Groups: 4

Anglers: 32

Peacock Bass Count: 8806

Biggest: 22lbs

Over 8lbs: 232

*Other less aggressive tropical species were left out of the fishing tally.

The family trip of a lifetime!

517 Peacocks boated by 8 anglers

Week 11 of our season and fourth on the Matupiri river. We had the pleasure of hosting the whole Hall family. The week started a little bit slow, some of the guys had to adjust their technique while some of the lagoons were a tad high. But as the week moved forward, so did the Hall’s; catching quite a few 15s and 16s with the biggest one caught by Brad – a 17lb unit that wouldn’t stop without a proper fight. Waters keep going down at a fast pace, 3 inches/day and we are planning to stay for a couple weeks more before it becomes too dry and hot for Peacocks.

Weather: We had cloud cover and some short showers that helped cool off the river and our angler although sunny bright skies were the usual during the week. Our South West Zone forecasts roughly the same weather for next week.

Groups: 1

Anglers: 8

Peacock Bass Count: 517

Biggest: 17lbs

Over 8lbs: 95

*Other less aggressive tropical species were left out of the fishing tally.
