Mid-Week Fishing Report: Aug 11 – 13, 2018 (2 ½ days)
PRIVILEGED ANGLERS ENJOYING THE LAST WEEKS AT THE MARMELOS RIVER
Last week the Tarr group ended the week with 1.478 landed peacock bass with several trophies weighing 17 lbs using mixed fishing styles.
This weekend the Shulyak group arrived at our Marmelos private fishery, again with a mix of baitcasters and fly-fishermen, their largest trophy up to yesterday was above the 17lbs. mark. Great top water action continues to be the name of the game.
Fishing conditions are excellent, weather forecast for the rest of the week only show some mild normal tropical storms with no significant rainfall.
Water levels are at the optimal level and keep slowly descending (see graph below – Humaita). Weather forecast confirms tendency showing some mild tropical storms with no significant rainfall (see forecast below – Manicore).

Weather forecast for Manicore , in the area of influence of the Marmelos private fishery shows some normal mild tropical storms with no significant rainfall for the rest of the week.

Water levels are still a bit too high for good fishing, but keep dropping as expected, which is normal for this time of the year. We are constantly scouting this area to determine date to break waters.
(beige in map above) Dry-Zone N.WestWater levels are high and peaking in the Barcelos area. It is still closed for the season, which is normal for this time of the year.
