Mid-Week Fishing Report: Dec. 08 – 10, 2018 (2 ½ days)

ALMOST IN OUR PROGRAMMED RECESS WITH ABSOLUTELY GREAT FISHING

 

 

Week end´s tally (2 ½ days):

Note: this 2 1/2 days report is to rush last weekend’s conditions to our incoming anglers.

Roçado private fishery in Dry-Zone N.West – Last week the Henry group ended the week with several trophies above the 20lbs. mark. Fishery is scheduled to rest for the next 3 weeks and Floating-suites and tackle will be refurbished and re-stocked. Water levels forecast makes us believe that this fishery will be presenting good fishing conditions for at least 4 or 5 weeks.

Xeruini river in Dry-Zone N.West – The Hixon group of 7 anglers arrived on Saturday  landing 318 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days. Largest peacock bass weighed 15lbs. and best performing lures are propellers and top water lures.

Jufaris (upper and mid) in Dry-Zone N.West – Last Saturday the Chambers group of 6 anglers arrived to our single occupancy floating suites in the upper part of the river and had a great start with 236 landed peacock bass largest of which weighed 18lbs.The mid section of the river received the Barges da Costa group of 8 anglers landed 430 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days the largest of which weighed 16lbs..

Water levels stabilized and slightly dropping in our fisheries in the Dry-Zone N.West.  The Jufaris and Xeruini  fisheries is expected to maintain good fishing conditions in the coming week.

Blue dots represent water level monitoring stations where levels are rising and yellow dots where levels are dropping. Our area of interest is between Barcelos and Caracarai.

Some normal tropical rainstorms for the rest of the week expected at the Barcelos area improving towards the weekend.

Our area of interest forecast shows no significant rain episodes in the coming fortnight, thus the dropping water level tendency is expected to continue.


 

Moreover, rainfall forecast for the trimester shows a mild El Niño impact in the area with a water level drop for the coming months.
