Mid-Week Fishing Report: Jan 04 – 06, 2020 (2 ½ days)

Fishing now at the Omero, Maú and Upper Jufaris

Week end´s tally (2 ½ days):

Note: this 2 1/2 days report is to rush last weekend’s conditions to our incoming anglers.

Jufaris in Dry-Zone N. East -: Yesterday afternoon we received the Shoff group of 8 anglers in the Jufaris Private Fishery, we do not have yet fishing data available for this report. Water levels are a bit high but very fishable, and dropping. Weather forecast showing no significant rain in the coming days (pls. see below).

Branco lakes in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last Saturday we received the Raselacom group of 9 anglers. They had a great start landing 773 peacock bass plus a varied mix in the basket including aruanas, pirarucus, etc. There are several fly fishermen in the group. Forecast promises that they will be enjoying great fishing conditions in the coming days.

Maú fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -:The Brasher group of 8 arrived last Saturday and had a nice start landing over 300 peacock bass. Water levels on this fishery are a bit below the optimum but very fishable. Fishing conditions for the next days according to the forecasts look very promising (pls. see below)

The Omero lakes and the Maú river present good water levels, dropping and very fishable. Maú river is a bit below the optimum and the Omero lakes a bit above the optimum but both very fishable. Tendency is confirmed by the forecasts for Caracarai, and Barcelos (see below), that show no rain in the coming days.

The Jufaris river still presents water levels a bit above the optimum, but fishable, water cycle has been somewhat delayed this season, but dropping tendency is firm, please see forecast below for Santa Isabel and Caracarai.

Water level measurements at the Caracarai station (see below) are now within the historical parameters. Please see red circle in stations map above. The Omero, Maú and Itapará drains into de Branco river and will keep dropping.

Water level measurements at the Barcelos station (see below) continue to be within the historical parameters. The Jufaris and Kabori fishery drains directly at the Negro river in the area of influence of this station. Please see red circle in stations map above.
