Spending Thanksgiving week: just fishing in the Amazon

 

 

Week end´s tally (2 ½ days):

Note: this 2 1/2 days report is to rush last weekend’s conditions to our incoming anglers.

Omero lakes in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last weekend we received the Saldanha group of 8 anglers,  landing 195 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days and enduring some moderate rain episodes. Host reports good top water action propellers being the favored lure. Fishery continues to yield a varied assortment of sporting species, including the sleek aruanas and sturdy red tails,  water levels are stable and expected to resume dropping tendency in the coming days. Itapará in Dry-Zone N. East -: This Saturday we received the Shulyak group group of 8 anglers coming from Russia, Yuriy, Serhiy, Grzegorz and Josef are visiting us again. Water levels still a bit on the high side, and have risen due to last week´s hard rain episodes, but fishable. Weather outlook is fine and dropping tendency is expected to resume in the coming days. Lower Jufaris fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last Saturday we received the Molinari group of 8 anglers, including Lopes, Savier and Pinto visiting us one more time. They started by landing 128 peacock bass. Forecast for the rest of the week looks good though water levels are a bit on the high side after last week´s rain episodes, yet they are fishable. Camp host reports that mid water lures, are working best. Upper Jufaris fishery in Dry-Zone N. West -:   Last Saturday we received the Kuehn group of 6 anglers, including Jason McGovern visiting us one more time. They had a good start landing 262 peacock bass. Forecast for the rest of the week looks good though water levels are a bit on the high side after last week´s rain episodes, yet they are very fishable. Camp host reports that mid water lures, rapalas and yozuri are working best in this scenario. Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Ishankulov group of 8 arrived last Saturday and started the week landing 108 peacock bass, largest of which weighed 16lbs. Water levels are a still bit on the high side but very fishable not dropping though due to the heavy rainfall last week. Good weather in the coming days (see forecast below). Joao Pepino and wood choppers are the chosen lures this week.

Water level measurements at the Caracarai station (see below) are almost within the historical parameters - spike was due to last week´s rainfall. The Omero lakes fishery is down river from this station at the Branco basin, water levels are excellent at this time. Please see red circle in stations map above. The Itapará also drains into de Branco river   Water level measurements at the Barcelos station (see below) continue to be within the historical parameters. The Jufaris and Kabori fishery drains directly at the Negro river in the area of influence of this station. Please see red circle in stations map above. OPERATING NOW IN 4 PRIVATE FISHERIES

Omero lakes in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last weekend we received the Luft group of 12 anglers,  landing 226 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days and enduring some rain episodes. Host reports good top water action propellers being the favored lure. Fishery continues to yield a varied assortment of sporting species, water levels are dropping and expected to get below the optimum in the coming days. Itapará in Dry-Zone N. East -: This Saturday we received the Roig Moon group group of 8 anglers,  including Carlos Arrea and Federico Matamoros who are visiting us one more time. Several fly-fishemen in the group who, all considered,  had a good start landing 115 peacock bass.  Water levels still a bit on the high side, dropping, but very fishable. Some heavy rain episodes during the weekend and some more expected Wednesday an Thursday. Upper Jufaris fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -:   Last Saturday we received the Geraci group of 7 anglers, they endured some significant rain episodes and they had a good start landing 248 peacock bass. Omar Borghello and Ouida Gernentz are coming to our operations one more time. Group endured some significant rain episodes and more are expected Wednesday and Thursday clearing towards the end of the week. Water levels are a bit high but very fishable, camp host reports that mid water lures are working best in this scenario. Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: The Kenshima group of 7 arrived last Saturday and started the week landing 155 peacock bass, largest of which weighed 18lbs. Water levels are a bit on the high side but very fishable and dropping. Some heavy rain is expected tomorrow and Thursday. Joao Pepino and wood choppers are the star lures this week.

      The cuadrangle within Barcelos, Santa Isabel do Rio Negro, Caracaraí and Rorainopolis in the area of influence of our Upper Jufaris, Omero lakes, Kabori and Itapará fisheries forecasts above showing some significant rain episodes should be expected Wednesday and Thursday, improving towards the weekend. ———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Omero lakes in Dry-Zone N. East -: Last weekend we received the Cheslak group of 8 anglers,  landing 341 peacock bass in just 2 1/2. Group endured some mild rain episodes during the weekend. Fishery continues to yield a varied assortment of sporting species. Itapará in Dry-Zone N. East -: This Saturday we received the Aroratti group of 6 anglers,  landing 198 peacock bass in just 2 1/2 days. Group endured some mild rain episodes during the weekend, water levels a bit on the high side but dropping. Maú river fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -:    This weekend we received the Monroe group of 6 anglers,  who had a good start landing 211 peacock bass, largest of which weighed 20 lbs. Water levels still a bit on the high side, but very fishable. Some mild rain episodes during the weekend and some more expected towards the end of the week.Best performing lure as reported by the host is perversa. Check last week´s 100 lbs pirarucú caught by the Murphy group, photo at the top of this report. Upper Jufaris fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -:   Last Saturday we received the Low group of 6 anglers, they endured some significant rain episodes and they had a good start landing 195 peacock bass. Robert and Sean Conway are repeating this fishery one more time. Last week´s Galloway group largest peacock weighed 20 lbs. Rapala subwalk is reported as the best performing lure. Some rain episodes are expected towards the end of the week. Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East -: Breaking water at this fishery last weekend with the Blonskiy group of 8 anglers, 6 of them repeating this adventure. Water levels are a bit on the high side but very fishable and dropping. Some mild rain episodes during the weekend and some more expected towards the weekend. Joao Pepino is the star lure this week.

The Kabori fishery in Dry-Zone N. East although a bit high is dropping  and presents good fishing conditions. Rain forecast confirms tendency for the coming days (pls. see below forecast for Caracarai) Water levels in Dry-Zone N.West at our Roçado private fishery  have stabilized due to new heavy rain episodes North of the basin, fishing conditions are not good yet, water cycle here is delayed for about 2 weeks. The Omero lakes and Maú river in Dry-Zone N.East continue to present excellent fishing conditions, weather forecast confirms this (pls. see below forecast for Barcelos) The Upper Jufaris presents a bit high water levels, but dropping and very fishable. Forecast for Caracarai, and Barcelos (see below), further confirm the tendency. The Itapará river presents water levels a bit on the high side but fishable, dropping tendency is expected to accelerate during the coming weeks.
